Newborn Must Have - The Boppy® Newborn Lounger!

I am a huge fan of the Boppy company, maker of the Boppy® Feeding and Infant Support Pillow, Support for all Momkind® so of course I jumped on the chance to review the Boppy® Newborn Lounger.

Boppy makes some wonderful baby products. I have written about my love for the Boppy nursing pillow on my blog back when I first started blogging. It's an item that has been with me for all three of my babies and a must have for breastfeeding in my opinion. I have also used the Boppy travel pillow and wrote about it in a blog post with travel tips for breastfed babies. That pillow saved my sanity on a flight once. I have also used a Boppy newborn lounger in the past with my son. I was more than happy to get a new one in pink for baby girl number three and share the reasons I love it here.

What makes the Boppy newborn lounger great?

I will admit I love to hold my baby as much as possible, and she loves to be on me nursing. I also wear her as much as I can, but sometimes she has to be put down for a few minutes. Usually when I am tending to my other children. There are many items on the market for holding babies during these moments so what makes the newborn lounger different?

Here are a few of the reasons I love it:

It's comfy and soft. The newborn lounger is the perfect size for a small baby and it's comfortable. It's definitely not meant for sleep but awake time so keep that in mind. The lounger is incredibly soft and has a recessed interior that fits a newborn perfectly.

It's portable. I cannot easily move all of my baby holding devices around the house which means the newborn lounger has an edge there. It includes a carrying handle, it's lightweight, and you can pretty much plop it anywhere. This also means it's easy to travel with and it does not take up much space.

Easy to clean. The fabric is wipeable and so far I have had no issues keeping it clean. My previous newborn lounger still looks brand new after a couple of years of use.

It's a highly rated product. The Boppy newborn lounger receives 4.9 out of 5 stars so I know other moms love it as much as me.

Since I have been home with my baby for a couple of weeks we have used our newborn lounger plenty. A couple of examples:

One of the most challenging parts of the day for me with a new baby is bedtime for the older two. While juggling putting my two and four year old to bed, I moved the newborn lounger into my oldest's bedroom and set my baby on it while reading to my daughter. My baby enjoyed sitting on the floor in the newborn lounger right in front of us while we read, and my daughter was happy I was still able to read to her in her rocking chair. I have utilized the same technique dealing with my son.

Our house has three floors so having something I can move quickly has been crucial. I recently brought the newborn lounger down to our bottom level. I don't keep any baby gear down there so bringing the lounger with me allowed me to take care of some paperwork in our basement office, my baby relaxed in the lounger, and my kids played with what they could find down there.

No matter where I use it my baby seems happy and comfortable in it which is saying a lot. For this reason I consider the Boppy newborn lounger a newborn baby must have. In addition to the other well loved products I have used from Boppy this one has served me well. It lasts till about 16 pounds so I expect it to get lots of use during the first few months of my baby's life. I also know that despite the weight limit my two year old toddler still likes to rest his head on his old newborn lounger and it still resides in his bedroom. The newborn lounger comes in a few different colors and patterns if the bright pink is not your style. But, come on.. how cute is this for a baby girl?
