Looking for a Stylish Breast Pump Carrying Bag?

Pumping moms - Did you know there are beautiful bags out there dedicated to carrying your breast pump?

You may be interested in a fashionable breast pump carrying bag if you are commuting with your pump daily and looking for something more than the basic black pump bag.

Everyone knows that schlepping your pump for travel or work can be a pain. The basic, boring black pump bag screams "I am pumping!" and is not exactly fashionable. It's also a burden when you need to carry a pump bag and then a separate purse or diaper bag as well.

Wouldn't it be great if there were some nicer bags out there? Well there are, and these bags are stylish and discreet. They can function as your purse, diaper bag, work bag, a carry on bag, and maybe in some cases they could even be a beach or pool bag. They are built to carry not only your pump but your personal supplies as well, eliminating the need to carry multiple bags.

This is one of my most popular posts but I wrote it awhile ago. Here it is updated for 2017!

I love bags. Before I had kids I collected purses and travel bags and now I am going for diaper bags and pump bags! I love that these bags can transition into  a regular bag when I am done pumping as well.

Here is a round up of the best ones out there.

Nurse Purse Breast Pump Bag

Product: Nurse Purse Breast Pump Bag

Best Price: Amazon

Dimensions: 18.6 x 11.5 x 6.4 inches

This is a great bag that comes in several fun color combinations. It has plenty of room for everything a pumping mom needs to carry and fits almost all kinds of pumps. It has a special compartment to access your pump and it can store it completely intact, no need to break anything down to fit it in.

Compatible with most breast pumps.

Made out of a water proof cotton canvas material.

Non toxic finish.

Room for all your accessories, personal items, bottles and cooler bags.

Can fit a laptop as well.

Easy access to your pump.

Beautiful selection of colors and patterns.

Cons:

The Hygeia Pump is a tight fit but can be squeezed in with some maneuvering.

The "New Yorker" Breast Pump Bag by Charlie G

Product: The 'New Yorker " Breast Pump Bag by Charlie G

Where to buy: Amazon

Dimensions: 18 x 8 x 15 inches

I recently had the chance to review this bag and it is amazing. I really loved it. It’s large and it’s stylish, and like the other bags here it does not look like you are carrying a breast pump.

Please read my full review here with more pictures and information.

New Yorker by Charlie G Breast Pump Bag

Pros:

Tons of organization with many pockets and separate areas for everything.

Durable and high quality nylon.

High quality metal accents and zippers plus feet on bottom of the bag.

Lined pump pockets will keep milk cold.

Fits all breast pumps with room to spare.

Large bag but not heavy.

Has shoulder straps and a messenger/cross body strap.

Cons:

Zippers were a little hard to move being metal but the quality makes up for it.

Having the top section separate from the bottom could be a con to some, I prefer it because it makes organizing easier.

Sarah Wells Bags

This brand was created by a mom who was sick of her boring black bag. Her bags really do not look like breast pump bags at all and can definitely transition into your regular diaper bag or purse.

Sarah Wells "Lizzy" Breast Pump Bag

Product: Sarah Wells “Lizzy" Breast Pump Bag

Place to buy: Amazon

Dimensions: 15 x 7 x 14 inches

Sarah Wells has several bags available now. The "Lizzy" is made out of a nylon material and appears to be more lightweight than her faux leather ones. It is also a much lighter color and would be perfect for spring. I have also had a chance to review her "Annie" bag and you can find a link to that review just below this one.

Lizzybreastpumpbag

Pros:

Stylish and durable.

Easy-to-clean performance nylon.

Fits portable pumps including: Medela Pump in Style (with or without a case) and Freestyle, Hygeia, Freemie, Spectra, Ardo and Ameda.

Thermally-lined pockets on both sides of the bag for breast pump, accessories and pumped milk.

Milk will keep cool up to six hours in the thermally lined pockets.

Two photo pouches to see your baby while pumping.

Sides snap down for a smaller bag or it can be unsnapped and used with cross-body strap for a larger bag.

Exterior pocket for small items and extra interior pocket.

This could easily transition to a regular bag or be used as a diaper bag.

Cons:

The material, while being super light weight, may not feel as structured as some of the faux leather bags.

Sarah Wells "Kelly" Breast Pump Bag

Product: Sarah Wells "Kelly" Breast Pump Bag

Where to buy: Amazon

Dimensions: 15 x 7 x 12 inches

It can be a backpack or a tote. This is amazing and the only breast pump bag I know of which does this.

A different shape than many breast pump bags.

Durable and lightweight performance nylon.

Stylish black and white print.

Fits all breast pumps including hospital grade pumps.

Eight pockets for organization and the pump pockets is lined to keep items cold for six hours with ice packs.

Cons:

No messenger strap.

Material not as structured as faux leather.

Sarah Wells "Abby" Breast Pump Bag

Pros:

This bag is gorgeous and available in four color combinations.

Durable and easy to clean nylon inside and out.

It has real leather shoulder straps and cross body strap.

Fits all pumps and has thermally lined pump pockets.

Large size fits everything you will need for work, pumping, and more.

Cons:

The real leather makes this bag a little bit heavier at over two pounds than her other bags.

Sarah Wells "Annie" Breast Pump Bag

Product: Sarah Wells "Annie" Breast Pump Bag

Where to buy: Amazon

Dimensions: 14 x 7 x 14 inches

Pros:

Faux leather is stylish and light weight, easy to keep clean.

Fits all standard breast pumps.

Thermally lined pump pockets.

Large interior capacity.

Cross body strap and shoulder straps.

Smooth zippers.

Cons:

Messenger strap is a little thin.

I have also reviewed the Sarah Wells bag, the "Annie" here. Please check it out as it is much more in depth.

Another awesome product from Sarah Wells is the Sarah Wells "Pumparoo" for Breast Pump Parts, Wet Dry Bag with Staging Mat. This is a handy bag for storing your pump parts separate from everything else and makes a great addition to any of her breast pump bags or on its own.

Kaylaa Breast Pump Bag

Product: Kayla Breast Pump Bag

Where to buy: Amazon

Dimensions: 15.8 x 15.8 x 7.9 inches

This is another bag I had the chance to test out. You can read my full review here.

Kaylaa Breast Pump Bag

Pros:

Stylish and does not look like a breast pump bag.

Comes in two colors black and white or red and white.

Large and will hold everything you need for your day plus pumping supplies.

Comes with a money back guarantee and great customer service.

Has shoulder straps and a cross body strap. The bag I received actually had two messenger straps.

The pump pockets can be attached out of the way to use as a regular bag if needed.

Cons:

Materials feel rugged but not as luxurious as other bags I have tested.

A tiny bit heavier than other bags listed here but also seems bigger.

Conclusion

There are definitely some gorgeous bags for carrying breast pumps. I love that these can transition to a diaper bag, regular work bag, or even purse. In the case of the Nurse Purse bag and the Sarah Wells "Lizzy" bag I can even see it as a beach or pool bag.

These can be a bit of a splurge but I believe a good bag is worth it. If you are using it daily, hauling your pump to work, or just need it for travel; it really beats the basic option that usually comes with a breast pump. In many cases your pump may be subsidized by insurance so you can now justify the bag!

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments on any of these bags.

They are gorgeous, but may I ask why the bags are so expensive? Everywhere I have gone trying to find a bag for a spectra, they are outrageously high and I cannot afford them. (I have 6 kids and currently pregnant with #7, so my kids needs come first, but it'd be nice to find an affordable bag for a spectra)

Hi Lauren,

I know they are a lot! I believe it is the craftsmanship and work that goes into these higher end bags. The most affordable of the "nicer" bags is probably the Sarah Wells "Lizzy" It is still more money than a cheap one but it will fit a spectra and it's beautiful. I am not sure if that will work for you.

Also, this is a long shot but maybe reach out to Sarah Wells on her site to see about a coupon code or when there might be a sale. I know she does things like that occasionally. https://www.sarahwellsbags.com/contact

Neat bags. My daughter is breastfeeding right now. Fortunately she works close enough to come home and pump at home at noon or one of these bags would be perfect. Great looking website.

That's awesome that your daughter works close enough to pump at home. I worked from home while pumping for my first and it is definitely more convenient :)
