I was recently given a My Prints Keepsake book to review which is perfect because I never even bought a baby book for my third baby. I believe she deserves to have some memories recorded too!
This is a unique book though in that it allows you to record information about your baby each month, add a photo, and create a piece of artwork using your little one's handprint against a handmade watercolor illustration. There are twelve sleeves to add to each month so you can create a year of memories. The sleeves keep everything clean and you can rearrange them depending on when you start the book. I am going to start mine with April so I can move the April picture and memories to the front of the book and go from there.
The My Prints book is available on Etsy and come in four color choices: green, pink, navy blue, and black. The book is handmade. It is such an adorable way to capture memories and record the changes in your child's handprint over time.
Here are pictures of the My Prints book I received:
Sarah gives helpful tips with each book on the best ways to capture a handprint or footprint easily. Since my baby is too young to get into the project with me I waited until she was asleep to take her handprint with washable ink. This worked out semi-well. I am sure with a little practice I can get an even better print.
Each page has a place for the date and special moments and memories. There is also room for a photo at the bottom.
Each corresponding water color picture has instructions underneath it on how to capture the handprint and create your artful memory. The watercolor illustrations are beautiful on their own. Here are a couple of the different ones:
And here is my first attempt. I decided to start with April since March is almost over. I created my baby's handprint and made it into an umbrella design for April showers. I can't wait to do the rest of the months with my baby.
This is a creative keepsake book and it's affordable too.I do like that it encourages us to capture our baby or child's handprint beyond the newborn stage. I believe it would make a wonderful baby shower gift as well.
