A Perfect Baby Shower Gift for Diaper Duty

As a mom to three including my latest addition, my sweet and final baby, I have spent a lot of time pouring over baby registries and trying different products. Anything to help in the early days of motherhood is a must for me. There have been some hits, items I couldn't go without, and many misses.

I remember when I was pregnant with my first baby walking into Babies "R" Us for the first time and feeling so overwhelmed. It was a whole new world with many products and new items to check out.

Thank goodness Babies "R" Us has a Registry 101 event which occurs on the first Saturday of each month to help moms set up their registry and learn about the process. Registry experts are also on hand to help guide us through the entire way. I am so glad I used Babies "R" Us for my first baby and each one since because they also have a Registry Completion event. This occurs on the third Tuesday of each month and allows new moms to close their registry and receive a discount on all remaining items after baby is born.

I will admit I thought I would not be heading out to the store after my baby was born but I was at Babies "R" Us a few days after the birth and every week after for quite awhile. It seems no matter how much we prepare there are bound to be more items to be picked up.

One baby item I love and have used with each baby is a diaper pail. Back when my first baby was born there was not as many offerings as now, but it is an item that has always been a life saver for me. Here is how I put together my baby shower gift bag for diaper duty

I wanted to put the diapering supplies in a basket that can be used in the nursery. Of course any kind of basket or container will do.

I added a small moveable changing pad. I know the mom to be will have a changing table but it's nice to have an additional pad to lay down for the huge messes, or if you are moving your basket around the room or house.

I gathered diapering supplies including diapers, wipes, diaper cream, a couple of trial size lotions, and burp cloths. Burp cloths are handy near the diapering area because they have so many uses beyond cleaning spit up. You never know what kind of mess you may have on your hands and extra cloths come in handy.

And, the star of the gift is the new Diaper Genie Complete.

I took the basket of supplies and individually wrapped them all in tissue paper. I put the Diaper Genie and changing supplies in the biggest baby shower gift bag I could find. I did take the diaper genie out of the box so everything can fit, but I will keep it for her just in case she needs it. A little ribbon on top and we have an adorable and perfect baby shower gift for diaper duty!
