I am on pregnancy number three and something that I have worn through all three pregnancies and breastfeeding is a nursing sleep bra. I picked up a few at Destination Maternity back when I was pregnant with baby number one. I didn't know what I was looking for back then but I definitely know what I love now.
And.. guess what? I am still using a couple of those original nursing sleep bras! They look pretty worn but they are hanging in there. They are going on four years old. I did buy some new ones for baby number two and I interchange them with my older ones. I think it's about time I treat myself to a few more for this pregnancy. I live in these sleep bras while pregnant and nursing. You may wonder if you even need a nursing sleep bra. I love feeling a little bit of support even while sleeping. Not everyone wants or needs it but I do. While breastfeeding they are great for keeping pads in place and help prevent leaking all over the bed. I wasn't sure I needed them myself but they have been well loved and used and are a necessity for me.
I have tried a few different kinds over the years and my hands down favorite nursing sleep bra is an extremely simple one from A Pea in The Pod.
A Pea in the Pod Unlined Nursing Sleep Bra
From the manufacturer:
Made from modal and spandex
Basic and unlined
Wrap type of bra
Light support
This bra comes in sizes small - xlarge and it is basic. I love it and have slept in it during all of my pregnancies and probably for a year after while nursing. It is light support so don't expect it to do the job of a regular bra. I use mine for sleeping only and rarely even wear it around the house.
You can find this one on Amazon.
Now if you want something with a little more support but still sleep-able and wearable around the house this is my favorite:
Motherhood Seamless Clip Down Nursing Bra
From the manufacturer:
Made from nylon/spandex
Clip down, lightly lined, full coverage
Light support
I love this bra for sleeping and for light support around the house. I know some women use this bra as their regular nursing bra but I prefer much more support for going out.
This is an incredibly comfortable bra and does offer more support than the one above. It comes in sizes small - xlarge with removable pads and adjustable straps so you can get a great fit. This is another one that I purchased during my first pregnancy and loved so much I purchased again for my second pregnancy. I am getting ready to buy more for this time around.
This Motherhood seamless clip down nursing bra can be found on Amazon which is cheaper than I paid in the store!
So, there you have it, my two favorite nursing bras that can be used for sleep. Of course you can sleep in any bra. I have several other nursing bras I love, but these two are my favorites for mostly sleep and around the house. They have both held up great through four years of washing and drying in the dryer (probably should air dry but sometimes I forget). If you are looking for a comfortable nursing sleep bra you can't go wrong with either of these options.
