It's that super busy, crazy, holiday rush time of year. My baby boy was born about two weeks before Christmas and the year I brought him home was definitely hectic. Now each year this will always be a busy month for me. Between his birthday party, and hosting a Christmas gathering at my home, I have plenty to do. I am in super-party planning mode to get ready for his 2nd birthday and I am also planning my Christmas dinner at the same time. Add in visits with extended family and friends, holiday parties, and it is a nonstop rush.
I am taking a moment in between all this holiday chaos to pamper and gift myself this year. Since this is also a time when the weather transitions, I want to make sure I am ready for it all. I've decided to stock up on new health and beauty products and get rid of the old products in my bathroom. This is my holiday treat to myself. It's beneficial to take time out and treat ourselves too, right moms?
I am a big Costco fan and do a lot of my holiday shopping there. It's one of the few stores my children love to visit and where they will behave. I don't know if it's all the free food samples, the double carts where there is no fighting over a seat, or all the toys and fun stuff to admire, but they love it. Considering I can get food, toys, and health and beauty products there it's a great one stop shop during this time of year.
On my most recent Costco trip I visited the health and beauty aisle and purchased Olay Regenerist Regeneration Serum (Available in Warehouse) , Venus Swirl, and Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash (Available in Warehouse). I love taking advantage of their health and beauty product deals; it's great stocking up so I don't have to worry about running out anytime soon.
Here is a quick tutorial with tips on how to clean out your old beauty products and gift yourself with something new this holiday season:
First clean it out!
I have a plastic caddy I like to keep on my bathroom counter with the products I use the most. It was getting a bit out of hand, overflowing, and not functioning well. So I dumped it out and cleaned it up. Anything over a year old or not getting regular use needs to go. Wherever you keep your products it's a good idea to go through them every so often and toss the old stuff.
I decided to move my small cosmetics to their own bag since they were getting knocked over and lost in the caddy. However you store your products organization is a must. Too many items jumbled in one area make it hard to find what you need. Between the cosmetics bag and my plastic caddy I should be all set. Other items that will work just as well for organization include baskets, any kind of cosmetic bags or pouches, or plastic bins or containers.
Then I cleaned my caddy up since it was caked in dirty cosmetic remnants. I used soapy water, no need for any chemicals here.
Fill with new products!
Once my small items had their own spot and my caddy was sparkling clean, I filled it with my new health and beauty products I had purchased. Of course, a few old items stayed but only those I truly use daily. It helps to cut down on the clutter. My old pile of products was getting unusable since I could never find what I need.
Use your new products now that they are easily accessible!
Now with everything clean and functional, it's time to use my new products!
I have previously written about my love for Olay Regenerist products. They are my go to products while pregnant because they are completely safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Of course they are great even if you are not pregnant, but considering I have been pregnant or breastfeeding nonstop for the last 4+ years I need products I can trust.
I already had a Regenerist serum to use at night so I picked up the daytime serum, Olay Regenerist Regeneration Serum, as well. A little goes a long way. You only need a small dab, about the size of a pea, to cover your face. These serums also work well as a primer for foundation to help you get that holiday glow!
I also need a way to keep my skin soft and smooth during winter. I love using the combination of Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash and the Venus Swirl razor. I don't even bother using a separate shaving cream, these two work great together to give you soft smooth skin.
I like to use a poof but a washcloth will work as well. Apply a small amount of the Olay to your poof and suds up.
There is nothing like gifting yourself with beauty products around the holiday season. We get so busy taking care of everyone else and rushing like maniacs, but us moms need pampering too! I love it when I can take the time to take care of myself properly. Trust me, it's hard to come by but it's worth it! Tell me, how will you be gifting yourself this holiday season?

Oh I SO need to do this in my bathroom. And I think this a great time of year to do it.I find cleaning up the clutter can make you feel good about yourself too, almost as much as a new beauty routine. #client
