Keeping Two Toddlers Entertained During Winter.. While Pregnant

I am so ready for spring. Anyone else? This winter has been kind of rough. So cold, too much illness and two high energy kids that are home with me all day. Add in being pregnant and it's been kind of dragging. I love spring, summer and fall when I can take them anywhere outdoors and we spend the day hiking, playing, sight seeing and having picnics. They burn so much energy. I love to have outings with them, but it is a bit harder in the winter.

We pretty much have a set routine in the winter of hitting up indoor playground type places (which are money!), the mall playground places (free) or museums. Luckily we have many amazing museums close by. My daughter takes ballet and sometimes we go to the library to round it out. Otherwise it's me at home trying to come up with creative ideas other than the TV. ha.

I recently discovered a unique and wonderful museum for kids about an hour away in Winchester Virginia. The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum.

I got lucky the other day and it was a little warmer, about 50, so I took them to an outdoor park. There are so many playgrounds and parks around here I seriously cannot wait for spring to start hitting them up again. This particular park is in Leesburg in Loudoun County Virginia and borders the Potomac River. I can't wait to come back when these trees are blooming. There are several hiking trails to check out too.
