WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK (WBW) 1-7 August 2018 is here!

Every year I like to post some information about World Breastfeeding Week.

As long as I have been breastfeeding I have celebrated World Breastfeeding Week each year. I love the supportive and informative messages it brings, and the work involved to bring breastfeeding benefits to everyone.

The theme this year is Breastfeeding: Foundation for Life.

From the World Breastfeeding Week website:

Breastfeeding helps to prevent malnutrition in all its forms, ensures food security for infants and young children, and thus helps to bring people and nations out of the hunger and poverty cycle. It is therefore a foundation of life. Protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding is vital to a more sustainable world.

Promote World Breastfeeding Week this year by advocating for and informing people of the economic, environmental, and health implications of promoting optimal breastfeeding on a global scale.

Wherever you are, you can inform, anchor, engage and galvanize on breastfeeding as the foundation for life.

Visit the World Breastfeeding Week website here for resources and promotional materials.
