My third baby is teething. She did not even get one tooth until almost 10 months old, and since then three more have arrived. Teething has been different with each of my babies but she seems the most affected of them all. She has been miserable, but a good teether can help temporarily, and of course she loves to play with them too.
I have been through a lot of teethers through the years. A few of these are old favorites, and some are new to me with baby number three.
These are all considered top baby teethers. They all have great reviews online from other parents, and have been around awhile. I have noticed an abundance of new baby teethers on Amazon and while I am sure some of them are great, I find there are many replications of the top teethers being made.
The baby teethers listed here are all well known, have been around awhile, and are BPA & phthalate free.
The Teethers
The Baby Banana
This teether is new to me this year. I almost bought it with every other baby I have had because it has been around forever but I never thought I needed another teether. Well, I was wrong..so wrong! This is one our favorites and has been for a long time. My daughter has been able to grip this one since she was three months or so and still loves it. It is super soft and perfect size. It also has the look of a toothbrush to encourage rubbing the gums. It's not an actual toothbrush at all but will get baby used to something in her mouth.
From the manufacturer:
- Award winning, best-selling, parent recommended
- Dishwasher and freezer friendly
- Made in the USA
- Baby Banana Brush is safer than hard plastic toothbrushes
- Develops good oral hygiene early, preventing cavities later
- Thick bristles intended to massage sore teething gums
- A-peel-ing handles are easy for little hands to hold
Nuby Teething Keys
Nuby has tons of teethers. I have many favorites and any of them will do. Most of them can be placed in the freezer and stay cool a long time. The keys are a traditional favorite with colors and stimulation for your baby too.
Some of my other favorite Nuby teethers:
Nuby Look at Me Mirror Teether
You really can't go wrong with any of these Nuby teethers. I have them all and use them frequently.
Manhattan Toy Winkel Rattle and Sensory Teether
This is a lightweight soft toy made of tubes. It also has a rattle in the center. My babies have all loved this as a toy and bonus, it can be refrigerated and used as a teether.
Vulli Sophie la Girafe Teething Ring
While many are familiar with the big Sophie giraffe, not everyone is familiar with some of the smaller teethers from Vulli. I actually prefer these. The giraffe was always way too appealing to my dog, and if it got wet the squeaker inside stopped working. I did have one previously and my dog owns it now sadly.
My favorite Vulli teething toy is the teething ring. It's similar to the big giraffe but no openings for water to get in and smaller so my baby can hold it easily. I have had this one with each of my kids.

Zoli Chubby Gummy Massager
I just bought these this year and they are already highly rated and parent loved. I have Zoli cups for years so I was intrigued when I saw the gummy massager and had to have it.
Here is some information from Zoli about it:
Ease your baby's teething discomfort while getting them started on early dental hygiene habits. The nubs and wide handle introduce your baby to a toothbrush, while the anti-choke shield prevents your child from over inserting. Soft-textured nubs soothe achy gums and the easy hold handle is perfectly sized for little grips. CHUBBY GUMMY is made with thermoplastic rubber (TPR) and polypropylene (PP) - safe materials that are BPA & phthalate free.
This list should be more than enough to get you started into the world of teething toys.
But, one last item which is a must is a Silicone Teething Necklace.
Now you can have a stylish looking piece of jewelry that your baby can grab and teeth on too. I have a few including the one linked to here.
Please let me know in the comments, do you have a favorite teether? Any I missed?
