I have been using a baby monitor for years but mine recently broke. I hated not being able to monitor my children anymore. Recently I received an opportunity to review the Levana Keera 2 Camera Video Monitor, so of course I jumped on it! I have been using this monitor for awhile now and I have to say I do love it.
I have always had two cameras set up that I use with one handheld parent device. The Levana Keera works the same way so it is perfect for me since I have two young children in separate bedrooms. Even when I co-slept I would sometimes leave my baby in a pack N play in my room till I was ready to go to bed, and had a camera video monitor set up. I find it a critical piece of baby gear and now that my kids are getting older it is still extremely helpful. I need to know when one of my toddlers is trying to sneak out of their room!
If you are not familiar with Levana here is a little background:
Levana has been exclusively manufacturing baby monitors since 2002. They are dedicated to baby safety and allowing parents to do more knowing their baby is safe. Their exclusive focus on monitors allows them to focus on perfecting their products. They have developed solutions to fit the needs of moms by asking them what they need.
Levana monitors have state-of-the-art features including:
Invisible LEDs.
ClearVu digital wireless technology (which means it cannot be hacked..extremely important when looking for a monitor!).
Robust battery life that exceeds several days.
Levana was one of the first to market with hi-res 4.3” LCD screens and the first to market with an easy-to-use GUI.
Levana has one of the only wireless movement monitors on the market.
When I received my Keera 2 Camera Video Monitor I set it up immediately!
Some of the standard features of the Keera 2:
A 3.5” Baby Video Monitor.
Pan/Tilt/Zoom Night Vision Camera.
A Rechargeable Battery.
2GB Micro SD card with adapter (I wasn't sure what this was for at first but more about it below).
2 Power Adapters.
It also has a quick start guide and a one year warranty.
I was immediately impressed with how sleek it looks. The cameras fit right in with my nursery decor and my children don't notice them. The invisible LED light lets me see my children in the dark, but there is no red light beaming at them from the camera. This is something my old camera had and my daughter did notice it.
Here is a quick look at the camera in my son's nursery
The Pan/Tilt/Zoom feature works well although once I have my cameras set up I don't typically move them around much.
This is a feature rich camera. Two features which I expect in a camera are two way communication so you can talk to your baby and soothe them, as well as lullabies that you can play for your baby and this unit has both.
The parent unit offers a touch panel of intuitive icons and is easy to navigate. I love all the colors and options on the panel. It also has an LED indicator ring that changes color with the sound of your baby’s voice. You can adjust the sensitivity and use it even when the sound is off to know what you baby is up to.
The battery lasts about 24 hours without charging and 10 hours while being used in PEEP mode. Peep is a mode that sets your monitor and your camera to “sleep” when there is no sound in the nursery saving battery life. As soon as your baby makes a noise, the monitor wakes up.
And one fun feature I would never expect but enjoy is the ability to take photos and video of your children using the included SD card.
I have enjoyed this monitor and I expect I will get years of use from it. I am impressed with all the features and I don't believe I have even tapped into its full potential yet. Having this monitor set up has allowed me to do more at nap time and bedtime knowing my children are safe.
Being a mom keeps us busy! What do you wish you could do more of? Great news Levana is having a giveaway!
